About Detroit

Detroit is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan and the county seat of Wayne County. It is located on the Detroit River, about 30 miles (48 km) northeast of Windsor, Ontario. The 2010 census recorded its population as 713,777, making it the 10th-largest city in the United States and the third-largest city in Michigan.

In 1819, Detroit became a territorial possession for settlement by Europeans when it was purchased from Native Americans for $0.04 per acre under the Treaty of Saginaw (1819). It later grew into an important transportation hub between Lake Erie and Lake Huron during the 19th century as pioneers spread across Michigan Territory to increase their land holdings at a time when the land was cheap or free and transportation costs remained low enough that families could afford to travel long distances by horseback or oxen over dirt roads if need be—a reality that remains true today despite modern advances like paved highways connecting metropolitan areas together with high-speed railroads on both sides just north of where we live!

It is important to find flights that you can afford, especially if you are a student or on a tight budget. Flights to Detroit can be very expensive but there are ways in which you can save money when booking your flight. Hurry up because cheap tickets are hard to find!

Top tips for finding cheap flights to Detroit

If you’re looking for cheap flights, here are some tips:

  • Fly on a Tuesday. The average price of a flight is $89 cheaper on Tuesdays than any other day of the week.
  • Avoid flying on weekends and holidays. The longer the weekend, the higher you’ll pay for your ticket (so avoid flying during Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day). Likewise, avoid flying during peak holiday seasons like Christmas and Thanksgiving unless you can find an amazing deal (in which case go for it!).
  • Don’t fly direct or at peak times. Flights that aren’t direct tend to be cheaper than direct flights; although sometimes this doesn’t make sense because one flight will get you there faster! When looking at flight prices in general try searching for nonstop flights only—if they’re not available then move on to connecting options instead. Also, keep in mind that if your destination has many airports nearby choose one closer than others so as not to pay more just because it’s farther away from where you want to go!
