14 Fun Things To Do In California

Introduction

I love California. It’s beautiful, it’s diverse, and it’s got something for everyone. When I need to get out of the city or just want to explore a new region of the state, these are some of my favorite things to do:

Disneyland

Disneyland is the original and most famous Disney theme park. It opened in 1955 and has since become the world’s most visited theme park. The park is divided into 7 lands: Main Street USA, Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, Mickey’s Toontown (which was inspired by Who Framed Roger Rabbit), Grizzly Peak Airfield (which looks like an old-fashioned plane flying over California), Condor Flats (which has a giant red hot air balloon) and Hollywood Land (where you can meet your favorite Disney characters). Disneyland also features a variety of rides including Space Mountain roller coaster and Indiana Jones Adventure.

If you’re planning to visit Disneyland soon but don’t know where to start for what things to do while there then this article would be perfect for you because here we have listed down some of our best picks that must be included in your itinerary when visiting this place:

San Francisco Cable Cars

San Francisco cable cars are the only original form of public transportation in San Francisco. These colorful and historic cable cars have been in operation since 1873, making them one of the oldest forms of public transportation in America. Today, three different lines run through downtown San Francisco: Powell and California Street lines (each covering a slightly different route) as well as the O’Farrell-Jones-Hyde line (the longest). Cable cars operate on a pay-as-you-go basis; tickets can be purchased at any fare machine or ticket booth but will cost $7 each way for adults ($3 if you’re over 65 or under 5 years old) or $5 each way if you’re traveling with children aged five to 12 years old.

They run from 6 am until midnight daily—although hours vary depending on the day of the week—and their routes take them up steep hills and around sharp corners along some major roadways such as Market Street and North Beach Avenue; however, these historic vehicles offer tourists an opportunity to experience something unique that cannot be found anywhere else in California!

If you do decide to ride one during your stay here then make sure not just enjoy yourself but also appreciate what makes these types of services so valuable: they’re fun ways

to get around town while also saving money on gas/parking fees (especially if driving isn’t necessary). In addition, riding a cable car offers locals living within walking distance access points that might otherwise require longer walks than most people would find comfortable given their health conditions etcetera

Hollywood Walk of Fame

The Hollywood Walk of Fame is a sidewalk along Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California that is embedded with more than 2,500 five-pointed stars featuring the names of celebrities honored by the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Walk of Fame comprises 24 blocks; it’s a popular place to visit for tourists.

You can see the names of celebrities you know on the sidewalk or take photos with them as well as other people posing for pictures!

Sierra Nevada Mountains

If you’re looking for a place to hike, climb and camp in one of the most beautiful places on Earth, then look no further than the Sierra Nevada Mountains. This mountain range is home to many species of wildlife. As such, it attracts hikers from around the world who want to see some of nature’s rarest creatures in their natural habitats.

The best part about visiting this area is that you can do whatever activity you want! Whether you want to go for a leisurely walk or enjoy some thrill-seeking adventures, there are plenty of activities available here. Some popular destinations include Tioga Road and Yosemite National Park (which have earned their share of accolades).

Giant Redwoods of Sequoia National Park

Sequoia National Park has a lot to offer visitors. The park is home to many of the largest trees on the planet, but it also has a diverse landscape with mountains and forests. If you are looking for something fun to do during your trip to California, consider visiting this amazing national park!

Sequoia National Park is located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains and has over 1,000 miles (1,600 km) of hiking trails available for tourists. There are several different areas within this national park including Giant Forest Museum Grove and General Grant Tree Trail where you can see some of these massive redwoods!

You can also visit the Giant Sequoia National Monument which contains about 70% of all remaining sequoias before they were protected under federal law by President Theodore Roosevelt back in 1908 after conservationist efforts from both sides led up until today when we still have some leftover from what was once millions upon millions which died off due to logging practices or disease outbreaks that came about through human intervention itself.

Napa Valley Wine Country Tours

Napa Valley is the ideal place for a wine tour. It’s the most famous wine region in California, and thanks to its proximity to San Francisco, it’s easy to visit from anywhere in Northern California.

The area has more than two dozen wineries within a 30-mile radius of Napa Valley, so you can easily spend an entire day exploring these vineyards. And if you don’t want to drive yourself (or maybe your friends aren’t into driving), there are also plenty of wine tours that will guide your group around. Plus some wineries offer free tastings if you book ahead online!

Hearst Castle in San Simeon

Hearst Castle is a National Historic Landmark and the largest privately owned home in the United States. William Randolph Hearst built the castle between 1919 and 1947, but you can still visit it today. This historic site was opened to visitors for tours in 2006, after being closed for about 50 years.

Hearst Castle is located on a hilltop overlooking San Simeon Bay, with views of the Pacific Ocean from many of its windows. The main building has more than 250 rooms, including six kitchens and 36 bathrooms! No wonder Hearst needed so many staff members to keep his castle running smoothly!

Death Valley National Park

Death Valley is a national park in the United States, located in California’s Mojave Desert. Death Valley is spread across an area of over 3.4 million hectares and its lowest point is 84 meters below sea level. With an average elevation of just 350 meters above sea level, Death Valley has one of the lowest elevations on earth and it also has one of the highest temperatures recorded on Earth – 56 degrees Celsius (134 F). It’s also known as “The Devil’s Playground” because people go there to experience extreme heat and potentially dangerous consequences that come with it – like dehydration or sunburns!

Palm Springs Aerial Tramway

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is a fun, family-friendly way to see the desert. It’s also the world’s largest rotating tram. It takes passengers to an elevation of 8,516 feet in just 10 minutes, from which they can enjoy sweeping views of mountains and valleys below. The tramway is located near palm trees and Joshua Tree National Park—an ideal location for those who want to explore nature but also want easy access to nearby attractions.

With its high-speed gondola ride and impeccable views, it’s no wonder that this attraction has been named one of Travel + Leisure magazine’s best U.S. aerial treks!

The La Brea Tar Pits and Museum in LA

The La Brea Tar Pits and Museum in Los Angeles is one of the most interesting and entertaining places to visit in California. The museum was founded in 1913 when excavations began at what is now known as the La Brea Tar Pits. These tar pits are a natural trap for animals that once roamed Southern California, particularly saber-toothed cats and mammoths. Since then, over 100 tons of fossils have been recovered from the site!

The museum hosts an excellent collection of Ice Age people who hunted these large mammals for food; there are also many exhibits on modern-day mammals such as bison and bears—both endangered species that live near Los Angeles today!

Joshua Tree National Park

In Joshua Tree National Park, you’ll find some of the most serene, beautiful landscapes in California. The park is also home to some of the largest and most unique trees on Earth: Joshua trees are found nowhere else in the world except here.

If you’re into hiking or camping, this is a place for you. You can wander through canyons and valleys dotted with spiky cacti and huge boulders. But if climbing rocks sounds more like your thing, then Joshua Tree is perfect for that too! There are tons of areas where you can climb without having any ropes or harnesses—just make sure to bring plenty of water because it gets hot out there! And don’t forget your camera; there’s no better way than photographing these natural wonders while they’re still around us.

The Golden Gate Bridge

The Golden Gate Bridge is one of the most famous bridges in the world. This suspension bridge connects San Francisco to Marin County, spanning 2,700 feet across the opening of a waterway known as the Golden Gate Strait. It was completed in 1937 and remains one of the most photographed structures on Earth today. The view from beneath this iconic structure is equally magnificent: standing 1,200 feet above sea level with an unobstructed view of Alcatraz Island and Angel Island on either side, it’s no wonder why so many people flock here for photo ops each year!

The bridge was built by workers who camped out under its span during construction because they were too afraid to stay inside housing facilities where they feared there might be loose talk about what they were working on—a secret project that would make history if completed successfully: America’s first modern highway connection between two major cities separated by water since Roman times; a path so efficient that it changed how we live forever!

Storm Watching on the Oregon Coast

One of the best things to do on the Oregon coast is watching storms roll in. The region is known for its rain and fog, which create a beautiful atmosphere that makes it easy to get lost in thought. If you’re lucky enough to see a storm while on vacation, it will make your trip even more memorable.

The Oregon coast is also home to many whales that live in the Pacific Ocean year-round. It’s possible to see whales during almost any time of year when they migrate southward from Alaska or travel northward into California waters before returning south again through Hawaii and Mexico’s Baja Peninsula during winter months when water temperatures are colder than usual (between December and April).
