Lakewood, Colorado is a great city to live in. It’s got a lot of fun things to do, from museums and parks to breweries and wineries. Here are 21 things you can enjoy when you’re visiting or living in Lakewood:

1. Rodz & Bodz Museum Movie Cars & More

Rodz & Bodz Museum Movie Cars & More is a museum in Lakewood, Colorado that features one of the largest collections of movie cars and motorcycles in the country. The museum’s collection includes over 300 vehicles from such classic films as “The Wizard of Oz,” “Star Wars,” and Disney classics like “Cars.” In addition to its vast collection, visitors can shop for movie-themed merchandise at their gift shop or enjoy live music at their cafe on weekends.

The museum is open from 10 am to 6 pm on weekdays, and from 10 am to 5 pm on weekends.

2. Bear Creek Lake Park

Bear Creek Lake Park is a public park located in Lakewood, Colorado. It’s a popular place for outdoor activities and has a variety of amenities including playgrounds, picnic areas, and bike trails.

The park also offers several types of activities year-round such as:

  • Fishing (private boats allowed)

3. Colorado Mills

Colorado Mills is a shopping center in Lakewood, Colorado. It has stores like Target, Kohls’s, and Best Buy. There are also many great restaurants including Chick-fil-A and Panda Express. The movie theater at Colorado Mills is one of the best around!

You can get to Colorado Mills from Denver International Airport by taking I-70 west to exit 203B (Colo. 225 south), then following Colo. 225 south until it ends at Colo. 6/Ralston Rd., then turning right on Ralston Rd., left onto 120th Ave., right on Wadsworth Blvd., right onto 120th Ave., left onto Wadsworth Blvd, and into your destination!

4. Heritage Lakewood Belmar Park

This park offers a variety of activities for all ages, including a playground, picnic areas, and a skate park. The park also has a beach that is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

5. William F. Hayden Green Mountain Park

This park is open to the public and has a playground, picnic area, walking path, and nature trail. There is also a dog park, fishing pond, community garden, and skate park. You can even see BMX riders on the track!

6. Crown Hill Park

Crown Hill Park is a great place to take a walk, especially if you’re looking for some exercise. The park has a playground, dog park, and nature trail. You can also enjoy an amazing view of the city from the top of the hill. It’s a great way to get some fresh air and take in your surroundings!

9. Green Mountain Beer Company

Located in the heart of Lakewood at the corner of Madison and Wadsworth, Green Mountain Beer Company was established in 2013. They offer a variety of craft beers on tap and in bottles, as well as having a food truck on-site and an outdoor patio area for live music on weekends.

10. Carmody Recreation Center

The Carmody Recreation Center is a great place for kids to play. It has a pool, playground, and basketball courts. Membership is required but it’s free so if you’re a member of Lakewood you should check this place out.

11. Addenbrooke Park

Addenbrooke Park is a park in Lakewood, Colorado. It’s located at 6001 West Jewell Avenue and features a playground, tennis courts, basketball courts, and a picnic area. The park is open from dawn to dusk daily (unless otherwise posted).

The park contains numerous amenities ideal for families with young children: walking paths; benches; restrooms; an outdoor pool that opens in the summer months; baseball fields; basketball courts; drinking fountains; grills for barbecues on weekends only (from Memorial Day through Labor Day). There are also two picnic shelters available for rent—one can host up to 80 people while another can accommodate 40 people.

12. Bear Creek Greenbelt

If you’re looking for a fun day out, consider checking out the Bear Creek Greenbelt. It’s a 10-mile trail system that connects the cities of Lakewood and Golden, making it a great place for hiking, biking, and walking. There are several trailheads along the way that make it easy to access different sections of this gorgeous path. There are also plenty of places where you can stop by shops or restaurants along the way if you need a break!

13. Conundrum Escape Rooms

Escape rooms are a fun and challenging way to spend time with friends. They can also be a great way to get out of the house, get some exercise, and learn more about your friends. As you work together to solve puzzles and escape from the room, you’ll learn things about your friends that may surprise you!

Conundrum Escape Rooms has six different themed rooms that are available for groups of two to 10 people. You have one hour to complete all tasks and find clues to escape before time runs out!

14. Caution: Brewing Company

Located at 12700 West 6th Avenue, this brewery has a cozy ambiance that’s perfect for grabbing a beer and hanging out with friends. The brewery has a large selection of beers, wines, and ciders to choose from as well as appetizers like pizza and paninis. If you want something more substantial than snacking on bar food, check out their full menu! They also have live music on Friday nights that can be enjoyed while sipping on one of their many brews or ciders available by the glass or flight (they also have growlers).

15. Roller City

Located at 12901 West Alameda Parkway, this roller skating rink is open year-round and has a snack bar. It’s great for kids and adults of all ages!

16. Baldoria on the Water

Baldoria on the Water is a restaurant, bar, and event venue located at 9400 West Colfax Avenue in Denver West Village. The restaurant offers waterfront patio dining, an indoor dining area, and a full bar featuring craft cocktails and local beers. Baldoria also has private party rooms for celebrations of all kinds!

Baldoria on the Water serves lunch from 11:30 AM–2 PM daily, dinner from 5 PM–9:30 PM Sunday–Thursday, 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM Friday & Saturday (and late-night drinks until midnight)

17. The Edge Theatre Company

The Edge Theatre Company is a non-profit theatre company in Lakewood, Colorado. The Edge Theatre Company is located at 8001 W. Colfax Avenue in Lakewood, Colorado. They specialize in producing new works by emerging playwrights and produce six plays a year on two stages (the Cervantes Main Stage and the Loft).

The Edge Theatre Company was founded by artistic director Steve Leich as an alternative to commercial theatre options available in Denver’s suburbs at the time of its founding. They have also put on plays that were well received by critics such as “Spalding Gray: Stories Left To Tell” which they produced in 2016 at their former space before moving into their current building

18. Union Square Park

One of our favorite places in Lakewood is Union Square Park. This large park is a great place to relax and enjoy the summer weather or attend one of the many events that go on throughout the year. There are always activities going on at Union Square Park, so you’ll never be bored!

In addition to being a great place to enjoy some time outdoors, there are several restaurants and shops nearby if you want to grab a bite or grab something nice while out shopping with your kids!

19. The Pinball Museum

The Pinball Museum is located in the same building as Charlie’s Bar and Grill on South Wadsworth Boulevard. The museum is open seven days a week from 10 AM to 8 PM and costs $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and children ages 7-12, and free for kids under 6. They also offer discounts on admission if you purchase an annual membership. If you’re visiting between February 1st and March 31st, 2019, they’ll be offering free admission on Saturdays!

The museum has over 200 pinball machines dating back to 1948 (the earliest game they have) with most of them dating between the 1970s – 1990s. You’ll find everything from classic machines like “Star Trek” and “Roller Coaster Tycoon” to newer ones such as “Ripley’s Believe It Or Not!” They also have one-of-a-kind games that were never mass-produced or released publicly but were made by private collectors who wanted a particular machine but couldn’t get it anywhere else so they built their own instead!

20. Ballmer Peak Distillery

Ballmer Peak Distillery is a small, family-owned distillery in Lakewood. They produce vodka, gin, rum, and whiskey.

For those who are curious about how spirits are made, tours are available on the weekends where you can learn more about the process while tasting all their different products.

21. Denver West Village

Denver West Village is a mixed-use development located in Lakewood, Colorado. The first of its kind in the city, it includes retail, office, and residential space with easy access to Highway 94.
